Calico ghost town styled shoot by styled hwy.
This was BY FAR my favorite styled shoot- to date. Styled Hwy was founded by Kristin Smith, who is also the owner of KS Floral Concepts. KS along with other vendors, put together an incredible detailed wedding day set up for photographers + videographers to practice their craft. Previous to this day, I had attended two shoot outs total: my first one in Joshua Tree + second one in Redlands with Styled Hwy. The Mitten Building (Redlands) was challenging for me, as I failed to prepare in bringing my extra lenses. Kristin DID send out an email saying it would be mostly indoors- but I had just gotten a new camera body + read somewhere you can't use old lenses with new cameras (which... hello... that's pretty much the point to detachable lenses...right?). welp. LESSON LEARNED- don't listen to EVERYTHING you learn on the internet. A million thanks to Heather Dawnn Photo, who is actually the one who told me about using the lenses. Truly made me realize how caught up we often get on what we read online!
ANYWAYS, This Calico Ghost Town shoot could not have been more perfect! We started at the the Bunk House getting all the details- from the bouquet, to the table set up, dessert, invites, rings... you name it. In these shoots there are two couples with different outfits + we split into two groups of 5. We are able to have 45 minutes with each couple exploring. It's very fun to be able to collaborate with other photographers + come up with amazing images. One thing I wish I realized each time, is that we are FREE to move and do as our creative minds please. You have complete creative freedom. The vibe is always relaxed and easygoing... I made so many talented friends who I cannot wait to work with!

Ghost town
After spending 30 mins capturing the details, we headed into Ghost Town with our couples! My group's first couple were Ashley + Travis; fun fact that Kristin did floral arrangements for their wedding day- 15 years ago! They were both so patient + great with each photographers request. I hope they enjoyed all their new photos.

This steamyyyy couple! They definitely knew what to do in front of the camera- cause they've done like 3 other styled shoots! We had so much fun walking around with them and trying to do quick shoots so we could make it all the way to the church on top of the hill!
